Significance of the Project

The proposal resulting from this project is potentially of great significance. The Institute is prepared to provide a bridge for the skill gaps between the industries and the unemployed and untrained youths. The Institute is prepared to provide a quality and active vocational program that reduces the potential dropouts from the schools and an alternative academic pathway for the youths who have different learning capabilities. The institute is prepared to work closely with the Myanmar government and the Ministry of Education so that the graduates from the Institute have life-long learning opportunities and further his professional career. The school will also have an active Student Body which encourages ownership and instill a sense of pride in the student cohorts. The Office of the Student Body will have a senior management staff in charge, however, the students will be encouraged to take ownership and be responsible for the improvement of the school. Both the Commercial Office and the Student Body should work closely in their electives which should provide students with future proof skills such as English and Chinese language and IT skills. The Alumni which is an extension of the Student Body can help graduates with job opportunities through job fairs, internships and apprenticeship with private sector industries. The key principle of the school is to provide students with opportunities to further themselves from trainee to entry-level jobs to supervisory and finally management or self-employment. Hence, the focus is on career development and career path, so that students will always be looking forward.
